Leaving Chollie in charge of our new young players is the worst thing Shapiro can do. Not only does he risk injuring them, but we're missing the chance to further develop their fundamental skills and instill in them the kind of attitude we want.
Perhaps time will show that Shapiro is waiting for the right guy or something. I sure hope we're not keeping Chollie simply because he works cheap.

I don't know any Indians fan who likes Charlie. I'm simply venting. Some of the players (Fryman comes to mind) have come out in support of Charlie; I believe it's because he's so easy on the players: he doesn't work them, he doesn't challenge them mentally or physically.

Why would have your 21 year old future franchise pitcher throw 120 pitches in a meaningless game (and situation)??????????
Sabbathia had an 8-1 lead going into the 8th inning and had thrown 100+ pithes. Why is CC still pitching in the 8th??????????
And Chollie is so clueless that he is praising CC in the paper today for 'stepping up' and giving us 120 pitches. What an idiot.
The evidence on young pitchers and high pitch counts and future injury risk is irrefutable.
How anybody can be so reckless with such a valuable commodity (Sabbathia) is totally beyond my comprehension.
